IMPLANT THE GIFT OF EASY BREATHING

Breathe-Implant®

the gift of easy breathing

Titanium implant for easy nasal breathing

„A great many people around the world have difficulty breathing through their noses, be it on one side or both. This problem is often underestimated, even among experts. Classic surgical methods are complex and often do not achieve the desired benefit in the long term. For this reason, I developed a solution 15 years ago already: Breathe-Implant. An easy-to-use and pre-shaped implant that widens and spreads open the nose at its narrowest point, the inner nasal valve. Your airways are open and your nasal breathing is significantly improved.”

"I cannot breathe. What can I do?"

Obstruction of nasal breathing is often the cause of various symptoms of illness. The extent to which the nasal air passage is narrowed can vary in severity and location. Depending on the cause of the nasal airway obstruction, surgical intervention is indicated. The Breathe-Implant à Wengen is used to dilate the nasal wings for sufficient and easy breathing. The Breathe-Implant à Wengen stabilizes the lateral nasal soft tissues and thus prevents the risk of a collapse frequently occurring in the nasal valve area. This nasal suctioning can be easily diagnosed in case of increased inspiration through the nose.

In open or closed septorhinoplasty, the implant is sutured to the triangular cartilage and fixed in place. According to anatomical, ethnological and age-dependent variations of nose shape and size, the Breathe-Implant à Wengen is available in 6 different sizes.

Corresponding "sizers" facilitate the surgeon’s selection of the appropriate implant size. Thanks to the good fit and material composition of the Breathe Implant à Wengen, surgery allows to achieve good cosmetic results.

The implants are both MR- and CT-(X-ray)conditional. Since pure titanium is not ferromagnetic and does therefore not cause interferences, the implant will not set off the alarm at airport security checks.

Benefits of Breathe-Implant

Easy handling

Easy and time-saving handling thanks to pre-shaped implants

Sustainable results

Permanent spreading and stabilization of the nasal valve

Easy breathing

Improved air ventilation through nose widening, which allows easy breathing

MRI-conditional

The implants are both MRI- and CT-(X-ray)conditional, also for potential Tesla’s strengths (up to 7.0 T).

Biocompatibility

The implant material "titanium medical grade" has excellent biocompatability.

Good cosmetic results

In contrast to cartilage implants, the extremely thin and stable structure of only 0.5 mm in diameter is visually unobtrusive.

This is how Breathe-Implant works

Breathe-Implant works like stretch poles in a tent: the soft parts of the nose are spread and kept open from above so as to achieve maximum widening on the inside, i.e. in the area of the air spaces.

In contrast to cartilage implants, the extremely thin and stable structure of only 0.5 mm in diameter is visually unobtrusive.

The results obtained for patients are excellent. However strong inspiration may be, the nose no longer collapses but remains firmly open. This is particularly pleasant for endurance athletes (runners, cyclists, cross-country skiers, etc.).

How to test your nose yourself

Inhale forcefully through the nose with the mouth closed:
Are the soft tissues being sucked in?

Now pull the cheeks next to the nose to the side with your hands and take a deep breath:
Is the suctioning of the soft tissues reduced?

Can you answer these questions with yes? Then you may be a candidate for Breathe-Implant.

The spreading of the nasal soft tissues can also be tested with nasal spreading strips. This is a fairly good way of assessing if permanent opening of the nasal passages can be achieved with Breathe-Implant.

Soft tissue collapses
Soft tissue collapses are mainly seen above the nasal wings, in the area of their indentations.
